This TVR belongs in the branch of the TVR family commonly referred to as Wedges, clearly due to it’s angular and distinctly wedge like appearance. The Tasmin 280i was the first born with 14 variants of Wedges following between 1980 and 1991. Using a variety four, six and eight cylinder engines, and from differing manufacturers, the Tasmin/Wedge design must be one of the most versatile TVR designs ever.
This 430 SE was registered in 1992 being the third of only three examples to be constructed. This car is reportedly the last ever Wedge, of any variety, to be constructed. The 430 SE used the Griffith engine and had 280 bhp and 305 Lbs/ft of torque. No official figures for performance were ever recorded, the 430 SE is often omitted from lists of SE models, but the 430 SE should be capable of reaching a top speed of approximately 150 mph and have a 0-60 mph time of around 5.3 seconds. The SE stands for Special Equipment, being predominantly styling improvements both in the cockpit and to the body shell.
